May 10 Svanja Cookie Reflect! & 3 Sisters Lesson TTOC

Attendance. Please take attendance as emailed.

Please hand out Cooking 9 Recipe Duo-Tangs. These are located in the filing cabinet at the front of the room. Top drawer. Labelled - Cooking 9. 

Please photocopy and hand out a Lab Reflection Sheet for each student. A few blank copies are located at the front of the room on the front shelves under the projector. Please photocopy 30+.

If you cannot locate the sheet please download a copy HERE and have your TA - Svanja go to the front office to copy these (x30). 

Students to complete their Lab Reflection on Svanja's Cookie's! 

Lab Date: May 6, 2022. (For top of Lab Reflection Sheet). 

Please have students complete their Reflection Sheets and ADD THEM properly to their Duo Tangs. Please have students organize and check their duo tangs. E.g. do they have the cookie recipe and the reflection? If they are missing the recipe they will need to copy this down and add it to their duo tang in front of their cookie reflection sheet.

Once all has been completed and checked and all items are INSIDE and clipped into duo-tangs but students please refile all duotangs into the front filing cabinet.

Today we are going to be looking at the 3 Sisters Planting Method as part of our Indigenous Connections Unit.

Post video completion. Lab groups - Please create a poster outlining one of the 3 main planting methods (as noted in the video) re: 3 Sisters Planting. TTOC please assign lab groups to one of the following methods re: the creation of their poster. 20 min for poster creation.

1. Mounding Method

2. Field Method

3. Landscape/Rotational Method

TTOC please have lab groups present their poster presentations and host class discussions re: each method. E.g. benefits and challenges of each etc. 

Poster paper is available in the cupboards by the classroom door. Left hand side. Markers are also available in the same area. Additional paper can be obtained from Mr. Wilson in the library should you so require.
